We were planning to stop by Sackets and Henderson Harbor and look up some friends from Punta Gorda, Florida, but talked ourselves into one more day in Ontario. We checked into Grenville RV Park in Johnstown, Ontario and what a gem. It set right on a peninsula on the St. Lawrence. Although extremely hot, the continuous breeze from the river offered a great respite. The few Canadians who stopped by, attracted by our license plate, were most interesting. One in particular, a 30-50 year old parrot, held our attention for nearly a hour. A huge structure right on the river turned out to be a grain and salt elevator with delivery from barges coming right up to it.
In 2006 Rog and Mary ran a project on the New York side of the bridge, so once we crossed it was like being home. Our friends met up with us at the RV park and toured us all around Sackets Harbor and back to their home. Just a delightful way to end a great and easy going trip. Our wagon averaged over 17mpg and with the favorable Canadian exchange rate, we were very pleased with the economy in all. A day in Poland with some catch up at work and then up to Camp to be greeting by Mary's sister and some of her friends brought us full circle.

We didn't take any more pictures of our lovely visit with friends at Sackets Harbor. |
But, our trip was great and we are already looking forward to our next one. |
