Of course once Rog heard you could buy Lobsters right off the boats at a steal, the hunt was on. The tip was that the boats would arrive at the wharf around 2 pm, so we wandered around the coast of PEI for a bit enjoying the scenery and then headed for the bridge. We stayed a bit at Jourimain Center. Friendly folks, internet and pretty flowers. Then off to Walmart because we needed a Big Pot in which to steam the lobsters and a box of salt (recommended by the locals).
After arriving at Wharf Rd, we were disappointed to learn that the boats had already unloaded and the trucks were almost ready to leave. However, one good soul told us to hang on that another boat was due in. So, wait we did. In a bit, Rog did wander back to a boat with bag in hand and returned to the wagon loaded down with 6 lobsters. Having looked on line, Mary delicately placed them in the fridge, knowing it was OK for an hour or so. Within that time we arrived at Parlee Beach Park. Within minutes we had our tools assembled: pliers (large and small), screw drivers, scissors, knives and paper towels. Water was boiling, butter was melted and mouths were watering....ready, set, go.....
